Head Start is a national pre-school education program that was created by the United States government in 1965. It provides education, health, nutrition and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.
This particular Head Start program is located at the Community Presbyterian Church. The curriculum prepares youngsters for their continued education before they reach the first grade. Children between ages 2 - 6 are eligible for the program. All children must be potty-trained in order to be considered. Parents do not need to be members of the church to apply.
The Head Start program at Community Presbyterian is open to children of all races, nationalities and beliefs. There is a fee to enroll a child, but financial assistance is also available.
