The Hacienda Child Development Center in Pleasanton is a private, non-sectarian institution that provides enrichment and education for pre-school and kindergarten-aged children. It is one of three "HeadsUp!" child development centers established by the Early Learning Institute (ELI). ELI also operates two schools (including the Hacienda School in Pleasanton) where children ages 6 to 14 can continue the program.
The center is licensed by the State of California and employs teachers trained in the Montessori approach to education. It offers it's "HeadsUp!" philosophy to include art, music and imaginative play as well as the Montessori curriculum of practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, science and cultural activities. Emphasis is also placed on parent involvement and interaction.
It maintains a child-to-teacher ratio of 3:1 in the infant program, 4:1 in the toddler program, 8:1 in the two-year-old program and 10:1 in the pre-school and kindergarten programs.
The center also offers a bilingual pre-school program taught in both Chinese and English.
