Christanne H. Coffey, MD, FACEP is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and assistant professor of medicine at UC San Diego Health. With expertise in evaluating, resuscitating, and stabilizing patients with life-threatening or critical conditions, Dr. Coffey provides comprehensive care in the emergency department. She also serves as the fellowship director of the wilderness medicine program and co-director of two wilderness medicine courses at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her research interests include wilderness medicine education, diving medicine, and aquatic injuries.
Dr. Coffey completed her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and her residency in emergency medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) and is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. In her free time, Dr. Coffey enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, scuba diving, and stand-up paddle surfing.
