History
Grace Havlak is a San Francisco based documentary, photojournalistic wedding photographer. An Honors Graduate of The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), she has worked at places ranging from the Alexander McQueen design house in London to the MTV Wardrobe Department in New York City to film sets in Hollywood, before settling down in San Francisco to pursue wedding photography full time. As the daughter of a photographer, she had a Hasselblad in her hands long before she learned to drive. Fight it as she might, photography was in her blood and she just couldn't escape it. She has photographed happy couples from New York to New Delhi and just about everywhere in between. When she is not behind the camera (which, frankly, is her favorite place to be), she keeps busy sewing, baking, vintage shopping, thrift-storing, reading 19th century Russian novels, and spending more time on planes than she does asleep.
Specialties
Candid love stories from New York to New Delhi. I work to tell the story of your wedding as it unfolds naturally, with minimal interference. I want your memories of your wedding to be real and full of joy. Your wedding is one of the few times in a your life that you have all your friends and family in the same place at the same time. Relax. Enjoy it. Forget I'm even there. Unlike most photographers who base their packages on a number of hours, all of my packages include full wedding day coverage. I'm there to document your wedding, not to snap a few portraits, hit the standard milestones, and take off once the cake is cut. I'll be one of the first ones there while you're getting ready, and I'll be the last one to leave at the end of night. I'm there document the story of your day, not to dicate it. To capture real moments, not create false ones.
