Gingko Home Furnishings is a boutique of custom-made furniture in Mountain View. The majority of the pieces in the store are made of walnut wood, a material that is meant to last through a variety of climate changes. The furniture available in the store has a theme of East meets West with a modern twist. Classic furniture from imperial palaces is a source of inspiration for the custom furnishings, only they are scaled down and designed to have a greater sense of function in the modern home. All the pieces in the store are original crafted works and coated with several layers of shellac and furniture wax to protect against scratches and wear. The store is named after a Gingko tree because all of the furniture in-store is inspired by the tree's longevity, surviving as long as 3,000 years with leaves producing medicinal properties.
