Frontierland Park is a huge expanse of open space and wooded area in Southeast Pacifica's foothills. Within its borders are a large, by-reservation-only picnic and event ground that contains grills and a prep counter, playground and horseshoe field.
The trails in Frontierland Park are long, easy-sloping and well maintained, suitable for a leisurely stroll or a run. Once deep inside the park, it almost feels as if no suburb or city is near: to the north, a steep, wooded embankment hides a residential neighborhood, and to the south, San Pedro Valley County Park makes the near-wilderness appear endless--until you reach the veritable palace of a playground.
Restrictions on dogs, fireworks, fires and smoking keep the park clean and quiet, and being that it borders--and yet somehow feels removed from--busy Oddstad Blvd. means it's close enough to enjoy even on a lunch break.
