Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) provides shelter and care for abandoned and companion animals in the City of Alameda. Dogs and cats in Alameda are required to be
licensed and fees from these licenses directly support FAAS programs. At the Alameda Animal Shelter, people can purchase licenses and tour the kennels to find the perfect
family pet. The ever-changing population of the Alameda Animal Shelter can include dogs, cat, rabbits, other small furry pets and reptiles.

This shelter helps rehome and even rehab animals. The staff are friendly and diplomatic for each situation. There are many volunteers that aid in the efforts.
