The Housing Authorities of the City and County of Fresno has been operational for more than 60 years and provides affordable housing solutions to over 14,000 families throughout the communities of Fresno in California. It administers conventional low-rent, section 8 voucher, new construction, moderate rehabilitation, migrant, farm labor and emergency housing programs. The authority s housing assistance payment programs are designed to assist eligible low-income families to pay their rent. The Housing Authorities of the City and County of Fresno owns and manages more than 2,000 public housing units. It has developed a homeownership training program that is offered to first-time homebuyers and includes classes on several topics, such as home maintenance, financial planning, credit, insurance, and the loan application and closing process. The agency maintains an office in Firebaugh, Calif.
