Specialties
Family Optometric Associates provides primary eye care. This includes general eye examinations for correction of farsightedness, nearsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism. The doctors also diagnose, manage and treat diseases and disorders of the visual system. Thorough examinations of the external and internal structure of the eyes are performed to evaluate for many ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, and systemic disorders including hypertension and diabetes. Our comprehensive eye examination involves more than just how clearly one can see. The doctor will spend an approximate of time between 20 to 30 minutes to evaluate how efficiently you use your eyes together and how effectively you focus on near and far objects. A comprehensive examination is the testing of the eye structures to determine the patient's ability to focus and coordinate the eyes, and to judge depth and see colors accurately. Prescriptions and fittings for eyeglasses, contact lenses and low vision aids are written.
