Founded in 1992, Esperanza Elementary School serves more than 900 students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers classes in math, music, English, art, science, social studies, foreign language, and health and physical education. The school additionally provides instructive sessions related to home economics, computer technology, and environmental, agricultural and public service education. It offers special education classes for students with developmental disabilities, as well as coordinates English as a Second Language and Title I programs. The school conducts several parent-teacher meetings and conferences. It also provides guidance counseling sessions. Esperanza Elementary School is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, which serves over 680,000 students through nearly 880 elementary, middle and high schools.
