Esperanza Elementary School provides academic experiences for students in kindergarten through grade six. The school offers an accelerated reader program that improves students reading comprehension skills and increases overall student achievement. It teaches special education, math, science, social studies, language arts, technology, reading, writing, music, health and physical education. The school has a parent-teacher association that works to foster growth and development of the education programs. Esperanza Elementary School is governed by the Westside Union School District, which has an enrollment of more than 9,100 students in kindergarten through grade eight. Westside Union School District operates more than 10 schools and has a staff of over 375 teachers and nearly 400 support personnel.
