The Facilities Maintenance Section maintains and upgrades the quality of electrical, mechanical and building infrastructure within the City of San Leandro, Calif. Its primary responsibility is to maintain and upgrade the electrical systems within the City of San Leandro that include safeguard and control traffic as well as power public buildings, computers, fountains, public pools, security gates, and provide lighting of streets, parks, parking lots and recreational facilities. The company maintains and repairs more than 55 signalized intersections; approximately 4,000 streetlights; and more than 425 security lights. The Building Maintenance Section is responsible for the overall care and maintenance of more than 200,000 square feet, contained in 21 buildings. The facilities maintained include Marina Community Center, Fire Stations, Fire Training Area, Civic Center Buildings, Public Works Service Center, Libraries, Casa Peralta, City Connection and the Boys and Girls Club. The types of work performed consists of plumbing, painting, carpentry, welding, office relocation, construction, HVAC maintenance, tiling, carpeting and preventative maintenance.
