History
Edah was a parent led grassroots effort to design a new model for complementary Jewish education committed to experiential, Hebrew-infused Jewish learning experiences that would also provide full-service aftercare for families. Rena Dorph is the catalyst, co-founder, and founding Board Chair for Edah Berkeley. Rena's local efforts with Edah have galvanized communities across North America to develop their own models for supplementary Jewish learning.
Specialties
Edah Berkeley is an afterschool program that offers high quality, Hebrew immersion, Jewish experiential learning for children grades K through 5 and their families. Edah complements kid's school experience; provides meaningful and joyful Jewish learning; and solves many logistical challenges for families. Our lives are busy. It's hard to find, access, and coordinate quality Jewish learning experiences for our kids within our daily routine. At Edah, we offer a full-service, out-of-school program that is fun, creative, and authentic. For children participating in our programs, they develop the will and skill to engage in Jewish living and life-long learning as active members of their communities. For parents there is community and peace of mind.
