Established in 2005, the Department of Technology Services provides a range of information technology solutions for the county, federal and local government agencies throughout the state of California. It delivers various cost-effective computing, networking, electronic messaging and training services. The department offers network connectivity to more than 2,500 sites and serves over 550 state agencies in nearly 50 counties. It provides a variety of infrastructure and network support programs, as well as manages telecommunication and Internet protocol networks within the state. The department additionally formulates policies and plans related to process improvement, financial viability and strategic planning. It is responsible for the maintenance of public and consumer survey records. Department of Technology Services maintains a data center that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It offers services to the Federal Highway Administration, Office of Traffic Safety, Secretary of State and Employment Development Department.
