Founded in 1999, Downtown College Preparatory is a charter school that addresses the academic needs of underachieving students in grades 9 through 12. It offers education to more than 400 students. Downtown College Preparatory s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, math, history, science, Spanish, fine arts and physical education. Additionally, it provides a range of athletic activities, including soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments. Downtown College Preparatory offers various extracurricular activities, including lacrosse, college trips, internships and community service programs. In addition, its college readiness program addresses several aspects of student growth, with an emphasis placed on learning key study skills, understanding and mastering the college application process, and developing a personal vision of individual and community success.
