The Davis Police Department is staffed with about 60 sworn police officers, 45 support professionals, two K-9s and a fluctuating number of volunteers. Its mission is to maintain the highest quality of life and security for all who live, work, learn and visit in the city of Davis.

The department works closely with the Davis Fire Department and the UC Davis Police Department as well as other Yolo County and regional law enforcement and criminal justice partners, according to Chief Landy Black.

Galt Police Department

The Galt Police Department works to prevent crime, preserve peace and protect the rights, lives and property of the city residents. It operates a communication center that responds to calls for police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency cases. The department conducts neighborhood watch, National Night Out and Crime Stoppers programs. The Galt Police Department conducts the Explorer program, which provides law enforcement training to students between the ages of 14 and 21. It provides information regarding child passenger safety seat and gang involvement. The department also offers the copies of police reports and employment opportunities to the residents. The Lodi Fire Department offers various services that include fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services to the citizens. The fire department maintains an equipment of HazMat response vehicles, mobile operation centers and public education trailers. The Lodi Fire Department has been operational for more than 100 years and maintains a station in Lodi, Calif.
