Dan holds a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. The path that led him to this profession started when he was very young and enrolled in an extracurricular Kung Fu and Tai Ji (Tai chi) program. Growing up, he not only developed a high degree of awareness and control over his own body and mental attention, he watched as many of his older classmates began to heal from their ailments through consistent practice of Tai Ji. Most importantly however, he was introduced to, and became enamored with, acupuncture and Chinese herbology; both of which were practiced by the head instructor at his school. By the time he was graduating High School his mind was already made up as to what he was going to do with his life and immediately began his education in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. In the years since, Dan has helped his patients recover from a wide range of conditions, only some of which include: acute and chronic pain, fatigue, depression, anxiety, weight loss, fertility conditions, digestive disorders, and sleep conditionsDan specializes in Chinese style needling techniques, using precision placement and manipulation of the needles to achieve the best results. He takes pride in his ability to work with his patients to determine the type of needling which will give them the best healing experience, be it gentle and relaxed or direct and stimulating.Dan also has done extensive training with Dr. Guan-Cheng Sun in the art and practice of Yi Ren Qi Gong. Qi Gong is the Chinese method of combining movement, breathing, and meditation to tap into and cultivate one's internal energy system for health, strength, protection, and longevity. Yi Ren Qi Gong is a system designed to help its practitioners explore and express the natural wisdom inherent within each of us to develop and balance a healthy life condition, in no small part due to its practices being directly connected to traditional acupuncture theory. In 2012 Dan completed his Yi Ren Qi Gong Teacher Certification and is currently one of only three certified instructors in California in this life changing practice. Since then, Dan has only accelerated his study and practice of Qi Gong to better serve his patients and his own life, be it the mind, the body, or the spirit. In his spare time Dan finds ways of bringing the natural world into his existing practices. Finding a great mountain side to practice some Tai Ji, knowing the best plants to meditate with, or just going to a relaxing park to read. His other hobbies include snowboarding and spending time with his dogs.
