Located in Orange County, Calif., the City of Costa Mesa has a population of more than 100,000 people and has a council-manager form of government. Costa Mesa City Council comprises five council members who are elected from the city and have an overall supervisory authority in the city government; making policies, passing ordinances and voting appropriations.The council has appointed several boards, committees and commissions, including planning commission, parks and recreation commission, child care and youth services, cultural arts committee, historical preservation committee and committee. The City Council holds weekly meets in the city hall and the meeting is open to public.
