History
Capoeira is a 400-year-old art form created in Brazil by African slaves used as a revolutionary tool to help free themselves from their oppressors. Capoeira combines aspects of martial arts, acrobatics, music and dance. Capoeira is practiced as a game played through sequences of attack, defense, and movements inside a circle of people singing and clapping to the rhythm of Capoeira music. A unique art form, Capoeira adapts to people differently depending on each student's skills - no prior knowledge is needed to start, and everyone is welcome to try.
