The name of this Reform Jewish congregation (also known affectionately by its acronym CBH) is Hebrew and signifies, in English, "gathering of friends." This description hearkens back to the organization's origins as an informal group meeting in private homes.
Worship services and social activities are open to persons of all faiths. In addition, the congregation operates a pre-school called Gan Haverim on its campus. It also sponsors a variety of social activities such as Israeli folk dancing (on the first and third Thursday evening of each month from 7 to 9pm).
