Founded in 1883, Concannon is among California's oldest wineries, and one of only a handful to survive Prohibition. Owned and run for generations by the Concannon family, the winery recently came under the ownership of The Wine Group. Among improvements to the vineyard, they have restored the original redwood tasting room and the surrounding grounds. The impressive tasting room is open daily. Be sure to sample their award-winning Reserve Petit Sirah, which is not available in stores. A tasting of up to 6 pours is $5 and you get to keep the glass as a souvenir. There are guided tours on weekends, and you can stroll the estate grounds and enjoy a pleasant picnic on the large lawn area.
