The Community Corrections Resource Center in Eureka, CA was established as part of Humboldt County's response to the CA Governor's 2011 Public Safety Realignment. It serves as a comprehensive hub for correctional supervision, substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment, vocational services, and linkages to community-based services, with the aim of reducing barriers to accessing needed services and increasing public safety.
The center is supported by the Community Corrections Partnership, which was established by Senate Bill 678 in 2009. The partnership works to develop and implement evidence-based practices to improve probation outcomes and reduce impacts on prisons related to probation revocations. The CCP Executive Committee, chaired by the Chief Probation Officer, advises the Board of Supervisors on the local Community Corrections Plan and oversees its implementation.
