Charter Oaks Apartments is a 100% section eight tax credit property that offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for low income families. Amenities include a children's playground, three laundry facilities, a community garden, a basketball court, a gazebo for outdoor parties, covered parking, and patios or balconies. Community manager Rebecca Conklin handles the paperwork and serves as a guide for this federally-funded subsidy. Every year the income limits change and the criteria hinges upon family size. Turnover is low, but units occasionally become available, in which case anouncements are made through the Napa Register. The Westwood Hills trails can be accessed behind the grounds. Charter Oaks Apartments was established in 1983.
