Founded in 1985, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County is a nonprofit organization that serves abused, abandoned and neglected children. The organization provides intervention and advocacy services. Its volunteers include men, women, students, executives and retirees, who are appointed by the juvenile court to serve as advocates and mentors. It offers educational and medical care services for more than 700 children. CASA of Orange County conducts various training programs for community volunteers. Located in Santa Ana, Calif., the organization provides assistance to find permanent houses for homeless children. It also offers child care services for the victims of domestic violence and physical abuse.
