California Farm Bureau Federation is California's largest farm organization with nearly 87,000 member families in more than 50 county farm bureaus. It is a voluntary, nongovernmental, nonpartisan organization of farm and ranch families seeking solutions to the problems that affect their lives, both socially and economically. Member benefits include insurance programs, industrial supplies, vehicle discounts, labor/employer services, credit cards, travel and entertainment services and mortgage discounts. CFBF created an agriculture education program in 1980 to incorporate agriculture into the regular curricula of the state's elementary and secondary schools. Reorganized in 1986 as the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, the program provides classroom materials and training for teachers. California Farm Bureau Federation was founded in 1913 and is based in Sacramento, Calif.
