The California Conservation Corps is a workforce development program that offers young men and women the chance to serve their state and become employable citizens through life skills training and hard work in environmental conservation, fire protection and emergency response. The program has both residential and nonresidential programs and centers. The Corps is a department within the state Resources Agency and is not affiliated with any state or county correctional system. The organization, also known as the CCC, helps improve the lives and prospects of thousands of 18 to 25 year old Californians every year. In the process, the CCC improves the ecology of California s lands and rivers and contributes to the state s public safety. California Conservation Corps employs more than 100 people and maintains a location in Julian, Calif.
