History
Started by Craig Calfee in 1989, he became widely recognized when Greg LeMond rode his bikes in the Tour de France. Calfee pioneered carbon fiber bikes and has steadily grown his business of making custom carbon frames since then. The first carbon tandem frame was developed by Calfee as was the modern Bamboo bike. He has since spun off a development project for making bamboo bikes in Africa. The specialty of repairing other maker's carbon fiber frames started in 2000 and has grown sharply since 2010. Over 5,000 frames have been repaired. The company also produces a Sizer Cycle that is a convenient tool for fitting riders to bikes. Calfee also does legal expert witness work to determine cause of failure in carbon fiber bicycle accidents. Now with 32 employees, the business is one of the last remaining carbon fiber bicycle manufacturers left in the US.
