History
by John Munoz, 3rd degree BJJ Black Belt, under Joe Moreira. In its beginning, CQ BJJ was originally named the United Submission Academy. A while later, due to John's ever evolving BJJ philosophy, the club and team were renamed to C-Quence Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It was in the early 2000s that CQ-BJJ really started to make a splash and gain recognition. And this is the time period USA (United Submission Academy) became CQuence Jiu Jitsu. CQBJJ tournament championships and titles began to grow at an impressive rate. Currently, CQ-BJJ has multiple World, Pan American, National and State Champions as well as multiple title holders in Sport Ju Jitsu, Submission Grappling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, MMA / Mixed Martial Arts, and Judo Champions. CQ's competition record and tradition of National and World Champions continues to this day. Except now of course, there are more of them!
