History
After coming back from the Korean War, I got the lead in a Tennessee Williams play at college where I had previously played football. I had never read a book on acting or had an acting class, but I knew instinctively that what they were doing in rehearsal was wrong. So I started coaching some of my fellow actors and all of a sudden I had a class of 8 actors which I've continued over the years whether in class or private coaching. I formally began teaching class in New York City in 1957. II have over 200 film and tv credits and I've been in 100 plays, many of which were in summer-stock where you did a new play every week and didn't have time to fool around. Boom. Do it. Now. No 12, no 25 steps. Think the thoughts of the character. Have a conversation. That's how simple it is. It's been a deep passion of mine to help actors honor their unique creativity and express their truth. Ten years ago I built a studio above my home in where I teach acting classes twice a week and coach privately.
Specialties
Try acting classes with an Actor who's actually successful at it! This class is for actors who are ready to take their work to the next level. I focus on telling the truth about where you are and what you have to do to become who you need to be to get where you want to go. I can see exactly what holds each actor back and I work with every individual to free the artist within. Classes consist largely of material handed out at the beginning of each class.
