History
Founding Member and Artistic Director of Boxcar Theatre Nick A. Olivero came to San Francisco with a passion for daring and bold theatre. Disenchanted by the super saturated Chicago scene, he chose San Francisco for its thriving and developing arts environment. Gathering like-minded artists who were looking for a more personal, hands on approach to develop strong visual concepts and risky theatre that confronted traditional methods, the company now features over one hundred artists per season, giving opportunities to directors, playwrights, designers, actors and more.

Under the artistic leadership of Nick A. Olivero, Boxcar continues to perform in either at the Boxcar Playhouse (located at 505 Natoma) or its Studio space on Hyde St.
