La Rinconada Country Club is located in Monte Sereno, next to the Town of Los Gatos. William Jefferson, a protégé of Tom Morris, the nephew of the famous British Open champion of the same name, is credited with designing the beautiful, 125-acre, private 18-hole golf course. It includes rolling green hills, water fountains, nicely maintained landscaping and friendly and cordial staff. The course is a par 70 for men, with 6,134 yards, ratings of 70.4, 69.5 and 67.5 and slopes of 132, 131 and 125, respectively. It's also a par 72 for women, with 5,545 yards, ratings of 71.6 and 68.9 and slopes of 125 and 121, respectively. The club's main office sits atop the property and includes the Grille restaurant and a private eating and reception area that can be reserved for special occasions, such as weddings and business meetings. The club, founded in 1929, also features a 300-yard long-driving range and a short-game practice area. A pro shop sells clothing from Tommy Bahama, Carnoustie, Fairway and Greene and Jamie Sadock, among other brands. Golf clubs from Callaway, Titleist, Cleveland Golf and Taylor Made are available. The shop is open 7am - 5:30pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
