California Highway Patrol, established in 1929, is a state police agency with statewide jurisdiction that works towards the prevention of loss of life, injuries and property damage. It also provides services for managing traffic and emergency incidents and protecting public and state assets. The agency operates more than 100 offices across eight regions throughout the state. California Highway Patrol maintains administrative, information management, enforcement, and planning and analysis divisions. In addition, it has personnel management and department training units. The agency also has the Office of Legal Affairs, which is comprised of legal coordination and analysis units. California Highway Patrol supports several commercial industry education, crime prevention and drug recognition evaluator programs. It maintains a location in Blythe, Calif.
