This spacious and popular spot has something for everyone. The restaurant offers a fun children's menu and some crazy specials, like 38-cent coffee before 11am and, in July, a deal where children can choose one item for free from the children's menu. Bistro 1491's menu emphasizes fresh, quality and organic ingredients and local suppliers. According to owner Bo Man Tam, the goal is "simply unpretentious food using only the freshest and the highest quality ingredients."
According to its website, the restaurant also puts a premium on environmentalism. Its cleaning products are eco-friendly and it has adopted energy-efficient practices, recycling waste and using bio-degradable products. It also does not serve sea bass, which is currently on the list of fish that American consumers who are sustainability-minded should avoid.
