The Benicia Fire Museum is a gem for anyone who likes fire engines and history. The Museum is home to the Chief Solano Engine No. 5 which can still pump an incredible 1,300 gallons of water per minute. It also houses the Phoenix, one of the first fire engines to arrive in California. It came to Benicia in 1847 and was retired in 1921. The Benicia Fire Museum is also the headquarters for the Benicia Volunteer Firemen.
