Established in 1986, Beechwood School is a private, nonprofit school that provides academic and social education to more than 160 students in kindergarten through grade eight. Its curriculum includes English, computer applications, Spanish, health and physical education, science, social studies and math. The school has a library that provides curriculum-related materials and a variety of free reading options for students. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as field trips, student council meetings, band, and musical and drama performances. Beechwood School provides after-school programs and maintains science and computer labs. Its students participates in city-sponsored sports leagues and attend creative writing classes. The school is governed by the California Family Foundation and is located in Menlo Park, Calif.
