Battelle is a scientific, educational, technology and community oriented research and laboratory management company with far-reaching projects throughout the world. It co-manages (with the U.S. Department of Energy) such essential sites as the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and the Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York. In California, it does considerable environmental research, especially regarding water and marine life. There is a local office in Carlsbad.
