The Gap opened its first location in San Francisco in 1969 with the idea of "making it easier to find a pair of jeans." Today that simple principle has expanded to more than 3,000 stores worldwide, and a chain of apparel brands under their belt that includes Banana Republic and Old Navy. Though Gap jeans are still a staple of the company, the clothing line is much larger now. It includes shirts, coats, pants, dresses, sweaters and accessories like belts, suspenders and socks and more. This location carries apparel for men and women, but there are also both a Baby Gap and a Gap Kids location in the Westfield Mall for smaller fashions.
