History
Founded by printer-publisher Andrew Hoyem, Arion Press aims to match the finest contemporary art with the finest literature past and present in books that are beautifully designed and produced. Our books are collected and exhibited in libraries, universities and museums around the world. Our best known books are a two volume Folio Bible, the massive Birds of the Pacific Slope, Moby-Dick (named one of the great books of the 20th century by the Grolier Club), a two volume Don Quixote, Ulysses (with drawings by Robert Motherwell), and others. Beside its publishing program, Arion Press offers custom services for the design and production of fine typography and printing, from small quantities for personal use to large quantities for organizational needs. Consultation on projects and publications is available as well as high-quality products. We offer public tours every Thursday at 3:30 pm.
