HistoryWe began working on Homer in 2018 because we care deeply about providing affordable homes for everyone in our community. As licensed California architects, we understand the hurdles that impact housing in our state. This is why we believe in helping homeowners to build solutions in their backyards that will immediately put a dent on our state's housing shortage, as well as offer many rewarding benefits for them in the long term. Accessory dwelling units (ADUs) tend to be naturally affordable because they are often built in underused spaces. Half of the land in America's most expensive metropolitan areas are covered by single-family homes with ample underused space. These areas represent opportunities to house families, create multi-generational co-living, and give elderly homeowners a chance to age in place.
