Founded in 1954, the American Society on Aging is a multidisciplinary association that offers physical, emotional, social, economic and spiritual services to the aged. The association has a membership of more than 6,000 individuals and includes practitioners, educators, administrators, policymakers, business people, researchers and students. It offers an array of educational programs, publications, and information and training resources. The association provides continuing education credits for a variety of disciplines, including care managers, counselors, nurses, nursing home administrators, social workers, assisted living facilities administrators, case managers and certified health education specialists. The American Society on Aging also hosts a variety of award programs to honor individuals and organizations. The association is located in San Francisco.
