The American Hellenic Council of California, founded in 1974, is a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles. Dedicated to promoting peace, stability, human rights, and democracy in southern Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Aegean, with a particular focus on Greece and Cyprus, the AHC provides information to the United States Congress on critical Greek issues and advocates for the protection and promotion of Greek-American interests and affairs in the global diaspora.
With a mission to inform and update the American public about relevant concerns and conflicts in the geographic region, the American Hellenic Council also works to promote Congressional bills and policies that support Hellenism. As the only Hellenic advocacy group west of the Mississippi, the AHC represents the Hellenes and Philhellenes of the West Coast, advocating for bills and policies aligned with their values.
