Alcohol Research Group is a division of the Public Health Institute. It specializes in epidemiological and public health studies of alcohol consumption patterns as well as problems due to over-consumption. This includes homelessness and mental health issues as well as issues affecting subgroups such as women, minorities, young adults and the elderly. Additionally, it disseminates the findings of its studies to public health researchers and independent scientists. The group is associated the UC Berkley’s School of Public Health, the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization, private institutions, corporations, research programs and hospitals.
