The Alameda County Planning Commission's jurisdiction is limited to the unincorporated areas of the County, including Castro Valley. The commission consists of seven members appointed by the Board of Supervisors, and serves in an advisory capacity to the Board. The commission also adopts and maintains the General Plan, and generally meets on the first and third Mondays of each month. The first monthly meeting starts at 6 p.m. and the second monthly meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. Meetings take place in the Public Hearing Room at 224 West Winton Avenue in Hayward.
