History
The Acapulco Restaurant tradition began in its historic location at Lincoln Avenue and Willow Street in Alameda in 1953. It was then that Modesto and Rose Quintero began serving authentic Mexican fare from a small take-out stand. For more than five decades this landmark restaurant has been serving quality Mexican meals and has hosted numerous of memorable meals for Bay Area's diners. The Acapulco changed ownership in late 2011 and reopened in late August of 2013 featuring quality Mexican cuisine with fresh, locally sourced and house-made ingredients.

Serving quality meals since 1953, this historic landmark establishment has hosted many memorable occasions for Bay Area diners. Building on that legacy, restauranteur Michael Wiesner, of Paradiso and Boulevard Burger, has re-opened the Acapulco with a new chef and a modern take on authentic Mexican cuisine -- featuring fresh, locally-sourced, sustainable, organic, hormone-free and house-made ingredients whenever possible. In addition to fresh, delicious Mexican cuisine, we also feature a full bar, fresh, artisan cocktails and gourmet tequilas.
