Founded in 1981, LifeQuest of Arkansas is a volunteer-based, nonprofit establishment for active adults. Based in Little Rock, Ark., the organization provides an infrastructure through which adults can create a more purposeful and rewarding post-retirement life or Third Age. The program is divided into two phases, first of which is Adventures in Learning, an educational portion that offers lectures in a variety of topics, such as health, financial management, media, politics and state/local history. The second phase of the program is Community Services, this portion offers civic services, such as Caring Wheels (one-on-one transportation to medical appointments), Computer Comfort (basic computer help), Friendly Callers (telephone reassurance) and Handy Hands (minor home repairs).
