The Solid Waste and Recycling Division provides a variety of waste collection services for commercial and residential properties. It offers services to more than 19,000 residents throughout the City of Fayetteville in Arkansas. The division collects containers, compactors, cardboards, carts, hazardous materials, tires and electronic appliances. It specializes in the recycling of glasses, plastic bottles, magazines, junk mails, paperboards, newspapers, and aluminum, steel and tin cans. The division offers yardwaste collection and bulk pickup and delivery services. It additionally provides the Pay-As-You-Throw program, which is a residential trash collection plan. The division is responsible for the management of the transfer station, waste disposal contract, and recycling and composting facilities. The Solid Waste and Recycling Division is a part of the government of the City of Fayetteville, which also operates aviation, planning, police, project and fire departments.
