McGehee Hospital
McGehee-Desha County Hospital is a more than 20-bed critical care hospital comprising acute care beds and swingbeds. The hospital provides a wide range of medical and health-related services to its patients. Its radiology department offers diagnostic radiology, ultrasound and computerized tomography, as well as routine fluoroscopy procedures, such as barium enemas. The hospital s ultrasound department performs carotid Doppler s, venous studies, abdominal ultrasounds and fetal age study. Its medical laboratory comprises departments, including chemistry, hematology and microbiology. The hospital operates a Level-III emergency department open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It also maintains an inventory of blood at all times from the American Red Cross. The dietary department provides monthly meals to various clubs, including the McGehee's Lions Club, Rotary, Gideon's, Women's Chamber, McGehee Hospital Auxiliary and Breakfast for the Think Tank. McGehee-Desha County Hospital is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is located in McGehee, Ark.
