The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, also known as ASCL, offers forensic services. Established in 1977, the laboratory manages a staff of more than 125 individuals. It has a digital evidence section that examines cases related to suicide, fraud and hacking. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory s forensic toxicology division serves law enforcement agencies, medical examiners and court systems. Its physical evidence section handles cases related to rapes, burglaries, property crimes and arsons. The laboratory accepts the evidence of investigations from the city, state and federal government agencies in Arkansas. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory operates an administration section that is responsible for payroll processing and building and vehicle maintenance.
