Arkansas School for the Blind has been serving students since 1859. Located in Little Rock, Ark., the school provides education to blind, visually impaired and deaf-blind individuals. Its core curriculum areas include Braille, nemeth code, adaptive technology, daily living skills, adaptive physical education, and orientation and mobility. The school additionally offers music and art programs and various extracurricular activities. Arkansas School for the Blind is a member of the Arkansas Activities Association and The North Central Association of Schools for the Blind. Its athletic department provides various programs, including track, wrestling, homecoming and cheerleading. The school also offers several programs, such as jumpstart summer job training, fine arts, and deaf and blind programs for students.
