Founded in 1977, Arkansas Advocates for Children & Families is a nonprofit organization promoting reforms for the welfare of children living in Arkansas. Based in Little Rock, Ark., the firm promotes economic security and educational reforms. It has worked to exempt low-income families from the state income tax and close down payday lenders. Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families is a member of Voices for America's Children and the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative. In addition, the firm advocates for a range of issues, including child health, child welfare, juvenile justice, family economics and substance abuse treatment.
